About Lovely Sticks
Lovely Sticks was founded on a simple belief: everyone deserves a safe place to heal. We are a small recuperative care home that welcomes veterans, people experiencing homelessness, individuals in recovery, and anyone else who has fallen through the cracks of the traditional system.
Our mission
We provide short-term recuperative care in a home-like setting, bridging the gap between hospital discharge and stable housing. Our goal is to help each resident recover physically, stabilize emotionally, and leave with a plan — whether that means permanent housing, treatment, employment, or family reunification.
By mixing populations rather than siloing them, we build a community of mutual support. Veterans mentor neighbors in recovery. People who have survived homelessness share wisdom with those newly discharged. Together, we prove that a home can be medicine.
"A home is not just a roof. It is the place where someone finally believes you can get better."
— The Lovely Sticks Team
Our values
Dignity First
Every person who walks through our door is treated with respect, not as a case number or a condition.
Stability Matters
A safe bed, dependable routines, and supportive care create the foundation real recovery is built on.
Community Care
We bring veterans, people in recovery, and underserved neighbors under one roof so no one heals alone.
Whole-Person Support
Medical discharge is only the beginning. We help with housing, benefits, counseling, and next steps.
